At this year's Regional Adoption Conference, sponsored by LDS Family Service, they will be helping to put together birth mother baskets. A birth mother basket is a special gift basket designed for a birth mother, who after making the loving decision to place her child for adoption, often leave the hospital empty handed and with a heavy heart. These baskets are put together with each birth mother in mind and are specifically made just for her. The baskets consist of bed and bath products, candy, frames and journals. These baskets are hand delivered by other birth mothers from the LDS Family Services Birth Parent Support Group.
Some things that are needed for the baskets are:•Comfy socks for the hospital •Composition books that we can decorate •Cute pens/pencils •Candles •Journals (every basket) •Lotions •Bath Salts •Bath Bubbles •Movies •Jewelry •photo frames •Music CDs •Inspirational Books •Hair Products •Make Up •Finger Nail Polish •Manicure/Pedicure Sets •Photo Albums •Magazines •Small Blankets •Slippers •Stuffed Animals •Gift Certificates(Massages, spa treatments, pedicure, manicure, movies or book store etc.) •Large Baskets •Tissue Paper •Ribbon •Silk Flowers •Jewels to decorate frames, cards and such •Scrapbook paper •Anything to make crafts
